Emily Lissner Hat Trick Jolts Woburn Into Semifinals

The Lady Tanners entered the final period versus Billerica tied on Tuesday, but used a pair of late goals to advance into the Division 1 semifinal round.

Woburn High School junior Emily Lissner netted three goals on Tuesday night, and the top-seeded Lady Tanners needed every one of them to escape upstart Billerica in the Division 1 girls quarterfinals.

The locals earned the victory despite falling behind 1-0 early on and entering the third period tied at 1-1.

Lissner's second goal gave Woburn a 2-1 edge with 10 minutes to play, and she added her final tally with just over eight minutes to go. Though Billerica scored with less than one minute remaining, it was too late and the Tanners survived.
