African Celebration

The Shamrock School Multicultural Committee will be hosting an African Celebration, culminating a yearlong school-wide study of Africa. It will take place on Wednesday, June 8th in the school cafeteria.

At this celebration, you will be able to sample "appetizers" that have been generously donated by local African restaurants. The After the Bell program's "Creative Cooks" will also prepare various African dishes to sample. Please note this will not be a meal.

The After the Bell theater group will perform "Anansi and the Birds", and African play directed by Dr. Kemeh. You will also be treated to a performance by award-winning African drummer, Joh Camara and his ensemble, sponsored by the Shamrock PTO. In between acts you and your children will be able to play "mancala" games, color African flags, view African art and literature.
