We’re putting on another screening of Do Something Reel films as part of our summer series, and this time it’s a double feature, both directed by Ian Cheney, winner of the Heinz and Peabody Awards! King Corn is a documentary about two friends who plant a crop of corn, America’s most subsidized grain, on one acre in Iowa and then try to track the product into the food system. What they find brings to light many questions about how Americans eat and farm. Truck Farm is Cheney’s next project, about how to farm in the asphalt desert that is New York City. Turns out you can grow in a 1986 Dodge pickup! Don’t miss out on these awesome films- snacks are included! At the Woburn Public Library!
