The Friends of the Woburn Public Library are hosting an afternoon of Irish songs, stories, and a bit of blarney. It will feature local entertainer, Keith Sullivan.
Sullivan has been singing and playing guitar and banjo for over thirty years at coffeehouses, libraries, schools, churches, campgrounds, concerts and benefits throughout New England and New York. For years he served as a crew member aboard the environmental awareness sloop Clearwater as one of the original Hudson River Sloop Singers, performing and recording with folk legend Pete Seeger at numerous festivals and concerts. Locally, he has served as master of ceremonies at the musical portion of the Mayor’s Annual Senior Appreciation Day, and has coordinated the hayride singers at the Festival on the Common. As a result, he has garnered praise for his ability to “engage all ages, from grandparents to uninhibited four-year olds in group sing-a-longs.” As one observer noted, “It’s hard to tell who’s having more fun – the kids, the grownups, or Keith!”
The Friends invite you to wear your green, don your scully caps, and join them for an afternoon of fun, music, and light refreshments.
