Scrabble

Scrabble starts again on September 26, and meets weekly on Mondays from 3:30—4:30 pm. It is open to students in grades 4 through 8. For those unfamiliar with the game, it is a word puzzle requiring a good vocabulary, including two-letter as well as obscure words; addition and multiplication skills for scoring; and strategies to best place your word for maximum points but also thwarting your opponents’ options for good word placement. We follow School Scrabble rules, and the game is played in teams of two. Come give it a try. It is a drop-in program, so attendance is not mandatory—but why would you want to miss the fun?!
