(Stoneham, MA) Members of Stoneham Theatre’s 2011 Lights Up! Auction Committee mingled with Auction sponsors, restaurant partners, and invited guests on Thursday, February 17 at a Sneak Peek Reception held in the Atelier Gallery at Stoneham Theatre. Invited guests were given a first-look at some of the exciting items to be auctioned at the 2011 Lights Up! Auction, to be held on Friday, April 1st at the Hilton Boston/Woburn. For this year, new items up for bid include a 2011 Boston Marathon Weekend Experience, a Cabaret Dinner with Kathy St. George, a Hilton Head Vacation and a Chicago Wrigley Field Experience. Returning favorites include a 7-night stay for four in a Tuscan Villa and a behind-the-scenes tour of Boston’s July 4th Celebration.
Sneak Peek guests were also treated to a performance of Sunfish just finishing up its successful run at Stoneham Theatre and featuring Rocio Valles, a graduate of Stoneham Theatre’s education program, the young company. A portion of the proceeds from the Auction will go to the Fund-A-Need campaign, which supports the young company and provides scholarships to the education program. These funds allow Stoneham Theatre to continue offering education classes during the academic year, increase enrollment in the summer program, and provide additional scholarships to those needing financial assistance.
Stoneham Theatre’s Lights Up! Auction is not only an occasion to raise funds for programs, it is also the much awaited yearly event to hear, before anyone else, what will be the next season’s line-up of shows and programs. The theatre’s Season 12 (2011-2012) will be revealed that evening and attendees will be entertained by a medley of short performances that will highlight several of the shows planned for the new season.

Raffle tickets are now on sale in support of Stoneham Theatre’s Lights Up! Auction. Tickets can be purchased for a chance to win an Ultimate Red Sox Experience! Package includes: four (4) front-row Pavilion Seat Tickets, round-trip limo service, dinner at the Shawmut Pavilion, a visit to the Red Sox Hall of Fame and an incredible On-Field Experience before the game. Raffle tickets are $50 each and the raffle is limited to 350 tickets. Drawing will be held at the Lights Up! Auction on April 1st.
