Fatal Crash in Woburn; 37-Year-Old Lowell Woman Killed

Accident is still under investigation

A 37-year-old Lowell woman is dead after her sports utility vehicle drove off the roadway at Exit 35 (Route 38) off-ramp from Route 128 South in Woburn

State police from the Danvers barracks are in charge of the investigation. Authorities are not sure why the vehicle drove off the paved roadway.

The facts and circumstances remain under investigation with the assistance of troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section.

The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 37 year-old Lowell woman, was determined to be deceased at the scene. Her name is not being released, pending notification of family members, according to state police.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Woburn Police Department, Woburn Fire Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highways Division.
