Free R&B and Soul Music Coming to Horn Pond This Friday

On Friday, July 26, SCI’s Horn Pond Summer Concert Series welcomed School of Rock Burlington as both the performer and event sponsor. In front of a crowd of 250 guests, students ages 7 to 17 showcased their skills learned from programs of School of Rock Burlington.

School of Rock Burlington’s Owner and General Manager, Mark Abruzzese, shared that his school’s philosophy is to “perform to learn, not learn to perform.” As a result, School of Rock Burlington offers students a transformative experience of learning to play music with others.

The next SCI Horn Pond Summer Concert at Ice House Park is Friday, August 9, 6-8PM featuring Ashanti Eva Davenport. Raised in Rhode Island and Boston, Ashanti Eva Davenport creates music to inspire mindfulness & growth. She will bring the sounds of soul, R&B, and hip-hop to Horn Pond. Sponsorship for this event is available.

Additionally, there is a second concert scheduled in August:
August 23 – Irish Whispa is making a return from their 2015 SCI Horn Pond Summer Concert performance with their upbeat Irish sound. This event is sponsored by Winchester Savings Bank.

All concerts are FREE to the public. The concerts are held 6-8PM at Ice House Park, the grassy area alongside the Sturgis St. end of Horn Pond. Pack lawn chairs or blankets and a picnic to enjoy along with the beautiful view of Horn Pond and the live music.
