GerrityStone customers who want to buy “factory direct” can now do so, announced Jim Gerrity, CEO of New England’s premier interior stonework company. Previously, GerrityStone countertops were only available through its network of dealers. GerrityStone will open its showroom this spring to the public, making their large selection of stone available directly to customers who want to be involved in the selection process. A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.

“Homeowners are more hands-on with their renovations than ever before,” Gerrity said. Do-it-yourself (DIY) renovation shows and even TV networks dedicated to home improvement have educated and inspired a whole generation. “Most realize that when it comes to major renovations, it’s something best left to the professionals. But certain areas such as choosing their own granite, for example – some people want to handle that task themselves.”

Gerrity said that he still encourages customers to work closely with their designer, contractor, and/or kitchen and bath center when selecting granite. GerrityStone is connected to a large network of professionals who can help customers choose their granite in terms of the overall picture. But for those customers not working with a kitchen dealer (for example, if they are doing their own renovations), GerrityStone’s new factory-direct option provides another choice. “The DIY market represents a large segment of the industry. If homeowners want to become their own contractors, we’ll provide the stone fabrication and installation support they need. Ultimately, it’s about providing customers with countertops they’ll love.”
