Girls' Basketball Prevails in Nail-Biter with Stoneham
Erin Marshall's clutch free throws seal 58-53 win to close gap atop Middlesex League standings.
Erin Marshall went a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe in the final two minutes, as the Woburn High girls’ basketball team held on to defeat previously unbeaten Stoneham 58-53 Friday at home.
With the Tanners up 46-44 at the two-minute mark, Marshall hit free throw after free throw to hold off a Stoneham team, which converted on two late three-pointers and another three-point play.
The junior was 13-13 from the line overall and scored 12 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter. She was filling in at point guard for junior Katy Knight, who’s out four-to-six weeks with a broken wrist.
