Golden Retriever Makes Miraculous Recovery With Help From Vet
Woburn's Mass Veterinary Referral Hospital helped keep Chloe going after near-fatal injuries.

WOBURN, MA — A special golden retriever is defying all odds and working her way back to health with the help of a local animal hospital. After being hit by a delivery driver and suffering nearly fatal injuries, 12-year-old Chloe has made a miraculous recovery with help from the Mass Veterinary Referral Hospital, reports WFXT’s Heather Hegedus:
The golden retriever had a hip that broke in two places, most of her ribs were broken and she was bleeding internally, but none of that diminished the hopes her owners had.
After the crash on Nov. 6 Chloe was taken to several veterinary and after surgery she had to keep on fighting against blood clots, arrhythmia, mini strokes and pneumonia.
“I can’t say enough about the folks at Mass Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn. They were incredible - and truly kept our Chloe alive,” Chloe’s owner John McMahon told FOX25.
When she was released on Nov. 22, Chloe had not movement in her back legs, but as time has passed her recovery has gone well.
There is a GoFundMe page to help the McMahon’s fund Chloe’s $18,000 in medical bills.
