Great Mandarin: A Four Corners Favorite

The most famous buffet in town!

Great Mandarin Restaurant

Overview: overlooks Four Corners in Woburn from its second story balcony. The restaurant is known among Woburnites for its Luncheon and Dinner Buffets. They serve a variety of cuisines including Mandarin, Hunan, Szechuan and Polynesian. The prices are reasonable, the selections are abundant and the view of Four Corners can’t be beat!

Decor: As you enter Great Mandarin, the takeout counter is on your right and you get a fabulous view of the buffet right smack in front of you. There is plenty of seating for dine-in including plush burgundy booths. White flowers and branches add to the oriental feel of the décor.

Beverages: Could I have a pot of China Tea please? Along with their traditional hot tea service, Great Mandarin offers a full bar, as well as a variety of sodas and juices.

Appetizers: All the classics are here. Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Fingers, Egg Rolls, Fried Jumbo Shrimp, Crab Rangoons, Spareribs and Fried Wontons. We recommend the Scallion Pancakes which come with a saucer of soy sauce for dipping. Brought a friend? Try the Polynesian Pu Pu Platter for two and indulge in a lot of the appetizers all at once.

Entrees: Buffet! Chances are you’ll be so tempted by the buffet you may not even look at menu. What’s not to love about filling up a plate with a heaping helping of a little of everything? If you do happen to look at the menu, you’ll find a variety of chicken, beef, duck, pork, fish, seafood and vegetarian options. They also have Polynesian specialties, Mandarin dishes like Rose Shrimp and other entrees such as Sweet & Sour Chicken, Moo Shi and Chow Foon. We highly recommend the Shrimp with Black Mushrooms & Pea Pods. It’s served with a white sauce and has an extra helping of vegetables.

Sides: While most Chinese restaurants will offer rice with your meal, Great Mandarin only offers it as a side. You can get white rice and various forms of fried rice.

Desserts: You won’t find any desserts here!

Service: Buffet is serve-yourself but you still get table service. Buffet is not available for takeout, but the full menu is available for dine in and take out. Call ahead for pick up only, Great Mandarin does not deliver.
