Horn Pond Gets Loud Saturday

This weekend is the time to stop by Horn Pond if you want to take in the start of the summer concert series.

The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series begins this Saturday, June 10, with familiar group the Austin Torpedoes. The concert will take place from 5-7 p.m. at Horn Pond along the flat grassy area of Sturgis Street (Ice House Park.)

The Austin Torpedoes are a Boston-area eclectic band who combine elements of blues, jazz, country, western swing and rock. They also cover a wide range of artists including Duke Ellington, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, the Beatles and Chuck Berry.

The concert is sponsored by the Woburn 375th Celebration and coordinated by Social Capital Inc. and the City of Woburn. Remember to check out the family fishing festival at 9 a.m. for fishing, boating, burgers, children's activities, and more.
