ICYMI:Rocky Nelson to Step Down After 2016 Season

Longtime Woburn Memorial High School football coach Rocky Nelson has announced that he will be stepping down after the 2016 campaign.

WOBURN, MA—Woburn Memorial High School legend Rocky Nelson announced officially that he would be stepping down from his post as head football coach after patrolling the sidelines for more than 30 years.

According to a report by the Boston Herald, Nelson confirmed the rumors that he would be stepping down from his post during his Massachusetts High School Football Hall-of-Fame induction speech Sunday night. A later report by the Herald indicated that the new playoff system and constantly changing practice policies lead to his resignation.

Nelson holds an overall record of 202-111-7 as the head coach of the Tanners, and lead the tanners to the Division 1A Super Bowl in 2005. He eclipsed the 200-win mark in 2015 with a win over Wilmington.
