Woburn Little Leaguers lost an early lead, losing 12-5 Sunday.
The Woburn Tanners lost to North Reading 12-5 Sunday in what was a decisive blow to the team's Little League Division 13 Tournament hopes.
Scoring five runs in the first two innings and playing stellar defense, victory seemed assured early on for Woburn.
Woburn chased North Reading startee Dan Madden after only 1 1/3 innings and its pitching held North Reading to 3 runs through 4 innings. But a persistent charge from North Reading bats and a long stoppage of play thwarted those early ideas.

With the score 5-3 in the top of the fifth, a well-struck ball from North Reading bounced off the Woburn third baseman's glove. After retrieving the ball, the third baseman and North Reading player bumped into each other. The umpires and coaches conferred to determine if interference occurred. All runners were declared safe.
After play resumed, North Reading could not be stopped, tying the score before the inning was over and adding 7 runs in the sixth for a come-from-behind victory.
