Jeanne R. (Flaherty) DeBenedetto, 78, of Woburn

WOBURN, MA—Jeanne R. (Flaherty) DeBenedetto of Woburn entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 14th after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Somerville to the late Richard W. and Ilene (Guazzaloca) Flaherty, she was 78 years of age.

Jeanne grew up in Somerville and graduated from Matignon High School in 1955. Upon marrying her childhood sweetheart, Guy DeBenedetto, she lived briefly in Arlington before settling in Woburn to raise her family.

After working in retail she found the job she truly enjoyed the most as an Emergency Room Intake receptionist at the former Symmes Hospital in Arlington.

Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Guy F. DeBenedetto of Woburn and five children; Dennis DeBenedetto, his wife Connie of Reading, Gerard DeBenedetto, his wife Lisa of Windham, NH, Elayna McLaughlin of Woburn, Karen O’Laughlin, her husband Thomas also of Woburn and Kevin DeBenedetto, his wife Patricia of Willow Spring, NC. Dear sister of the late Roberta Riley and her husband William of Arlington, Elaine O’Connor, her husband Robert of Arlington. Cherished “Nana” of Kevin, Patrick, Katherine, Erika, Drew, Jessica, Michele, Nicole, Elayna, Julie and Great-Nana of Haylee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at Saint Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn on Monday morning, June 20th at 10 a.m. Interment is private.
