Local Illustrator Entertains Woburn Elementary School Students
Ralph Masiello is an internationally-recognized children;s book illustrator who spent the day at Goodyear Elementary School in Woburn.

WOBURN, MA -- Ralph Masiello, the Massachusetts illustrator who has done drawings for several popular children's books, was at the Goodyear Elementary School Friday as part of the school's enrichment program. Masiello was the illustrator for The Icky Bug Alphabet Book, The Flag We Love, and his own drawing series. Masiello lives in central Massachusetts and frequently visits schools to demonstrate his work to students.
According to his Website, Masiello has visited more than 2,700 schools since 1987. A typical program includes five, one-hour visits, and he completes at least one illustration for each classroom. At larger schools, he has done up to 200 illustrations in a day.
Masiello credits the school visits with inspiring “How to Draw” book series. Beginning with The Icky Bug Alphabet Book in 1986, Masiello has become internationally known for the children’s books he’s written and illustrated.
