Local Piano School Keeps Woburn in Tune
Fortepiano Music School offers fun and affordable music lessons to children and adults.

Fortepiano Music School, which opened in April 2014, is owned by Rose Bogossian.
Bogossian has been teaching piano for over 15 years, and first learned how to play at the age of 5. She originally taught lessons at her home-based studio, but was spurred by the idea of owning a business that magnified her vision. Bogossian’s desire to share her craft outweighed her want to take a path similar to that of most classical musicians.
“I was given many opportunities to grow as a concert pianist, but I knew that I belonged in a teaching world,” she said. “My love for children and desire to pass along everything I knew grew into passion.”

Fortepiano Music School offers private piano, voice, guitar and violin lessons. All private lessons are offered in 30, 45, and 60 minute time-slots. Private lessons are available to all ages, but children from ages 4.5 to 7 can participate in group lessons for guitar or voice and keyboard.
“Some younger kids are torn between taking voice lessons or piano lessons,” Bogossian noted. “So I came up with combo one hour voice and keyboard lessons.”

There will be an open house on Thursday, Sept. 4 and Tuesday, Sept. 9. Both open houses are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The $25 lesson registration fee is waived for those who sign up at one of the open houses.
Bogossian believes in making music lessons affordable without compromising the quality of the material being taught.
“Parents pay a lot of money to provide music education outside of school music programs,” she said. “I want to offer a professional approach to lessons at a much lower price.”
Fortepiano Music School is located on 80 Winn St. in Woburn. Visit their website or Facebook page for more information.
