Malden Man Busted With Baggies of Pot

Officers found more than $500 worth of marijuana, and more than $600 in the man's wallet and $1,000 in the center console.

Woburn Police arrested a Malden man after he nearly crashed into a police cruiser and officers found more than 18 grams of marijuana in his possession.

At 7:53 p.m. on Friday, police arrested James E. Lebrun, 26, 50 Pagum St., Malden, and charged him with possessing a Class D drug to distribute, operating a motor vehicle without a license and a marked lanes violation.

Officer Joseph Wells was driving on Green Street when a black BMW backed out of Highland Street and onto Green Street. The officer needed to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the BMW.

Wells pulled over the vehicle.

Wells spoke to the driver and reportedly saw a plastic bag with marijuana in the center console. Police ran Lebrun’s information and found he was driving without a license.
