Mary Ann Stewart Takes Up Progressive Mantle in Candidate Forum

Strong Performance Demonstrates that She is the Most Progressive Candidate

(LEXINGTON)-- Yesterday State Representative 15th Middlesex District candidate Mary Ann Stewart attended the Lexington Democratic Town Committee Candidate Forum so voters can learn about her plans and visions for the office.

“I don’t want to go to Beacon Hill to go along to get along” said Stewart. “We need a courageous leader who isn’t afraid to speak up and make change.”

Mary Ann, endorsed by leading statewide progressive organizations Mass Alliance and Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts, emphasized her proven track record as a community activist and a progressive champion through her work with groups such as the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), the Revenue Options Working Group of Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts, the Lexington School Committee, and the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). Throughout the debate Mary Ann affirmed her goals to work towards such as education equity, environmental sustainability, and improved affordable housing options.
