Masa Taqueria Successor Set for November Opening

The new eatery will be occupying the Horn Pond Plaza space on Cambridge Road in Woburn.

WOBURN, MA — An eatery with locations in Newton, Wayland and Wellesley will be setting up its fourth location in Woburn, occupying the space once held by Masa Taqueria.

The Local Kitchen & Drinks is set to open at 35o Cambridge Street in the Horn Pond Plaza near the Four Corners in early November, owner Frank Santo told Patch. Santo estimated that the eatery is 80 percent ready to be open, and he is hoping that the doors will open around Nov. 8 or 9.

"I just think the area demographics work well for us as far as being near Woburn, Winchester, Arlington and Lexington," Santo said."Being in in the plaza with Whole Foods seems to work well for us too."

The Local will be occupying the Masa Taqueria space, which announced its sale in May. The gastropub's menu offers made-from-scratch food, cocktails and a variety of beer selections. Notable items on the Newton and Wellesley location's menu include short rib poutine, chimichurri skirt steak, and truffle mushroom flatbread pizza.

"Just come on in and give us a try," Santo said.
