Memorial Day In Woburn: What You Need To Know

WOBURN, MA -- Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day, and the city's annual parade will begin with a 8 a.m. call to order at Rockland Trust/Saint Charles. That will be followed by forward march to Woburn Common for a 9:00 a.m. ceremony. There will be an observance at Woodbrook Cemetery, Soldier’s Lot Common, followed by a muster at East Woburn Fire Station, and march to Calvary Cemetery with stops at the Jewish Cemetery and Knights of Columbus Memorial.

What's Open And Closed On Memorial Day

The holiday also means government offices and some businesses will be closed. Before you head out, check our list of what's open and closed on the holiday

  • Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion
  • Subway, buses: Sunday schedule.
  • Supermarkets: Open
  • Convenience stores: Open
  • Bars: Open
  • Banks: Closed
  • Basically anything to do with municipal government: Closed
  • Libraries, see above: Closed
  • Schools: Closed
  • Mail: Express delivery only
  • Trash/recycling collection: Delayed one day. Monday pickup on Tuesday, Tuesday pickup on Wednesday, etc., ending with Friday pickup on Saturday.
