New Rankings: Where Does Woburn Public Schools Stand Among State's Best Districts?
Woburn Public Schools took a significant step forward from their 2016 Niche school district ranking.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn Public Schools has taken significant improvement steps in recent months, and a recent public school district ranking by Niche reflects those improvements.
According to rankings released Monday, the district was ranked as No. 107 in a list of the Commonwealth's best school districts. While still outside the state's top 100 school districts, the new ranking represents a jump of 51 spots from its 2016 ranking of 158.
Woburn was No. 85 in the list Greater Boston Area's best districts, after not making the list in 2016.

With an overall Niche grade of B+, the school district received A grades in Clubs & Activities, Health and Safety and Sports. It received a B+ grade in Teachers, Administration and Diversity; and a B grade in Academics, College Readiness, Resources and Facilities as well as food.
After scoring among the lowest in the state on MCAS testing in 2015, Woburn Memorial High School showed marked improvement in 2016. The Daily Times Chronicle reports that WMHS went from being listed as a Level 3 facility to falling just short of the state's highest rating of Level 1.

According to Niche.com, the ranking is “based on statistics, student and parent reviews, and expert insights. Ranking factors include SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, student and parent reviews, and more.”
