The Ninety Nine Awarded 2016 Boston Red Sox Jimmy Fund Award

The local restaurant chain has raised over $555,000 since July of 2016 for the Jimmy Fund.

WOBURN, MA — The Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub, based in Woburn, was recently awarded with the 2016 Boston Red Sox Jimmy Fund Award for its support of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, according to a joint release from Dana-Farber and the Ninety Nine.

The Ninety Nine president Charlie Noyes and regional vice president Jim Kiley were honored at Fenway Park on Aug. 29 with the award, as well as the restaurant's 10-year partnership with Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund. According to the announcement, the Ninety Nine has raised more than $555,000 since July of 2016, bringing its cumulative total to more than $3 million since they began raising funds in 2006.

“We are thrilled to honor the Ninety Nine for their longstanding support of the Jimmy Fund over the last 10 years,” said David Giagrando, assistant vice president of corporate partnerships at the Jimmy Fund in the release. “We appreciate the support of their loyal customers and team members who have helped us raised millions of dollars to help fight cancer.”

The Ninety Nine raised funds in three ways, including supporting 2016 Falmouth Road Race with Team Lanzoni, led by regional vice president Jim Kiley; in-restaurant donations at all of the 106 locations; in-restaurant events and supporting a team of riders in the 2016 Pan-Mass Challenge.

The award was presented during the official "Jimmy Fund Month at Fenway Park."

“As we celebrate the 10-year partnership between the Ninety Nine and the Jimmy Fund, we remain committed to supporting the dedication Dana-Farber provides to cancer care and research,” said Noyes in a statement. “We look forward to this annual fundraiser, and are honored to know that every penny raised goes to Dana-Farber and our support will be used as unrestricted funds to help with find cures for cancer.”
