Not Enough Time?

With the WMHS Junior Prom just completed, the WMHS Senior Prom less than a month away and Graduation on the horizon. I wanted to bring attention to something I kept hearing last week prior to the Junior prom.
There's not enough time!! There wasn't enough time between the prom and other post prom activities to do "anything".

How long is enough time? How much time does it take to do a line of cocaine? To put a needle in your arm? How many beers can you drink in 10, 20, 30 minutes? How many shots can you do?

Any one of those decisions could lead to destructive consequences. I will be the first to admit that I am grateful to be alive due to some of the decisions I made when I didn’t have "Enough Time". Drinking 10 beers in 20-30 minutes because I just got out of work and it was New Year's Eve and I had to catch up with others.  How many of you could relate to this? Luckily for me, I only drank alcohol. I don't do it today, because of consequences from what I did in the past. I could have very easily done a number of other things and made that one decision that changed from not having "Enough Time" to having "No Time". I invite you all to think back to what it was like when you were High School aged. Did you manage to find time? What were some of your poor decisions?

Far too often, we read horrific stories of tragedies that have happened. We all like to think that this cannot happen in our city, but Woburn is not immune to this and has happened way too often than it should.

Everywhere we turn there are opportunities to make bad decisions. We as parents are the role models, the decision makers and the guardians of our children. Whether you preach abstinence or respect, we are responsible to help our children make smart choices with their time and the other aspects of their lives so that they will live to have "Plenty of Time"

It would be naive to say "There's not enough time", when all it takes is a little time to make that one decision to leave everyone else wanting more time when it's too late.
