Nurses Aide Training Program

Winchester Hospital offers a nurse assistant training class that teaches patient care skills including personal care, infection control, safety, transfers and vital signs. Students who pass the 75-hour state approved course receive a Nurse Aide Training Certificate. This certificate is required for the state exam to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA). The first step to gain entry to this course is to take our pre-entrance exam.

Requirements to participate:

· You must understand, speak, read and write English at a minimum of a high school level.

· You must pass the pre-entrance exam (a test of adult education in basic math and basic English) with a minimum score of 90 percent. You cannot retake the exam. There are no refunds for the pre-entrance exam for those who do not pass. Refunds are also not given to those who cancel the exam with less than 24 hours notice.

· A government issued picture ID

· Registration for the course and payment in full for the course is done on the day of the pre-entrance exam. The $25 pre-entrance fee is credited towards the total tuition payment of $750.

· Students who register for a course will be provided a health form that must be completed and returned 1 week prior to the start of their class. The health form and TB test must be completed by their medical provider. The TB test must be completed within one year of whenever one starts the course.

Upcoming test dates are March 5th at 9:00 am, and March 19th at 9:00 am.
