Obituary: Andrew L. Alfaro, EMT, Volunteered at First Baptist Church in Woburn
Served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the invasion of Panama

Andrew L. Alfaro, of Woburn, passed away at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center on Friday morning, October 17. He was 60 years of age.
Born in Melrose, he was the son of Ralph C. Alfaro of Ipswich, and the late Louise (Alberti) Alfaro. Andrew was a graduate of Reading High School. He served as a Medic in the United States Army during the invasion of Panama. Andrew was employed as an EMT. In his free time, Andrew volunteered his time helping at the First Baptist Church in Woburn with maintenance and projects around the church.
In addition to his father, Andrew is survived by one daughter, Charlene Alfaro of Woburn; his former wife Valerie; one brother, Ralph Alfaro, Jr. of Lowell; and one sister, Christine Baker and her husband James of Rumney, New Hampshire. He is also survived by two aunts, Rita Alberti of Medford, and Juanita Gilpin of Dracut; his cousins, Elizabeth Tokozy and her husband Ron, and Dave Gilpin, all of Dracut. Andrew is further survived by his dear friends, Ruth Merrill of Woburn, and Mary Ford of Ipswich.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn on Wednesday, October 22 at 10:00 am, followed by burial with military honors at the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.
