School of Fashion Design

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Our reputation for excellence is on display each time our students show their work at fashion shows and exhibits throughout the year. With an SFD Certificate in Fashion Design, our alumni have enjoyed fashion careers with Adidas, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, New Balance, PUMA, Ralph Lauren, Talbots, Timberland, TJX Companies, and more. Our alumni are designers and costumers for stage and screen, while others have found success launching their own label. Anna M. Jolly, 84, passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on Saturday afternoon, May 5, 2012. Anna was the wife of the late Richard Jolly and Fred Loscocco. She is survived by her son, Richard Jolly and his wife Tracy of Woburn; grandchildren, Edward Jolly of Woburn, Erica MacKenzie of Peabody, Elaine Dupuis of Tewksbury, Elizabeth Jolly and Samantha Jolly both of Woburn; great-grandchildren, Stacy and Stefanie Dupuis and Gavin and Lyla Jolly. She was the mother-in-law of Beverly Jolly, godmother of Karen Johnson &amp; aunt of Irene DelGreco, all of Woburn. She was also the sister of the late Mary DelGreco, Joseph and William Champa. Anna was born and raised in Woburn, before moving to Burlington. She worked at her family's restaurant - the Venetian Café. A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Tuesday, May 8 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 11 a.m. Anna will be interred at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
