Devoted mother of Betsy Pannos-Egan and her husband David of Lynnfield, and James W. Pannos and his wife Mary (Morris) Pannos of Andover. Loving “YiaYia” to Kristen (Pannos) Copell and her husband Layne of Somerville, Alexander Pannos and his wife Darrielle of Lynn, William (Will) J Pannos of Andover and “Great YiaYia” to her “little doll” Charlotte Copell of Somerville. The daughter of the late Aristomenis and Helen (Petropoulos) Stamatis. Predeceased by her siblings Anthony, Kay, Charles, William and Millie.

Julie was a long-time resident of Woburn. A graduate of Woburn High School and a child of the depression, she learned at a young age the value of hard work and empathy for others. Her love and passion for her family were endless. In Julie’s early years, she became an accomplished seamstress, and later in life she worked into her 80’s for the Clerk’s Office of the Woburn District Courthouse, where she made many lasting friendships. Julie was a life-long member of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Woburn. She was the past president of the Lady’s Philoptochos Society at the church and was always proud that she held this position at the same time her husband Barney was president of the Parish Council. Her service and philanthropy to the church were her way of giving back to the place that had meant so much to her and her family.

Julie’s generosity to her family and friends was never ending. Whether she was sewing outfits, baking her famous brownies and Greek pastries or entertaining at her long-time home on Mishawum Road, Julie loved doing for others. What truly drove Julie, however, was her love and devotion to her family. Caring for her parents, husband, children, grandchildren and siblings was a labor of love for her. No matter where she went, Julie never arrived empty-handed, but more importantly, she never arrived empty-hearted… she always saw the good in people, and that legacy will transcend her life forever.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, December 3rd from 5pm – 8pm at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, 70 Montvale Avenue, Woburn.
