Lawrence A. Pickett, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Tuesday evening, December 23. He was 53 years of age.
Born and raised in Woburn, he was the son of Elizabeth M. (Graves) Picket, and the late Lewis W. Pickett, Jr. “Larry,” as he was known to family and friends, was a graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1979; and he attended the University of Lowell. He was a longtime employee of Dell’s Appliance in Somerville, where he had worked as a repair technician.
In his spare time, Larry was an avid reader of science fiction books. He was also a Boston Bruins fan. He is remembered as a quiet man, who loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother Elizabeth, Larry is survived by his brothers and sisters, James Pickett and his wife Deanna of Nashua, NH, Janice Reily and her husband James of Beverly, Nancy Pickett of Woburn, and David Pickett of Attleboro. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Monday, December 29 from 4-7 pm. A funeral service will follow on Monday evening at 7:00 pm.
