Obituary: Mary T. (Horan) Beeman, Longtime Resident of Woburn

Known by her family and friends as a prankster. She especially loved planning elaborate April Fools jokes and Halloween pranks.

Mary T. (Horan) Beeman, 84, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday evening, December 3. She was wife of the late Paul F. Beeman who died in 2002.
Born and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Andrew, and the late Mary (McLaughlin) Horan. She was a graduate of Medford High School.
Mary loved spending time at home with her family, and holidays were a special time. She was known by her family and friends as a prankster, and she especially loved planning elaborate April Fools jokes and Halloween pranks.
Mary had a kind heart, and spent much of her life caring for elderly family members, and those who could not take care of themselves. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary is survived by her children, Paul Beeman and his wife Maryellen of Woburn, Mark Beeman and his companion Delia Martinez of San Diego, CA, Karen Houpes and her husband Tom of Reading, and Tom Beeman and his companion Lisa Queenan of Billerica; six grandchildren, Colleen Beeman, Kelly Pynn and her husband Brian, John Beeman, Katie Beeman, T.J. Houpes, and Nicholas Houpes. She is also survived by two sisters, Kathleen Gorse and her husband Joseph of Medford, and Peggy Horan of Everett; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two sisters, the late Agnes Coward, and the late Veronica Horan; and one brother the late Thomas Horan.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge St., Woburn on Wednesday, December 10 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge St., Woburn, MA 01801. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
