Obituary: Stephen W. Foster, 40, Avid NASCAR Fan
Contract truck driver for the U.S. Post Office

Stephen W. Foster, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday morning, October 12. He was 40 years of age.
Born in Lowell, and raised in Woburn, he was the son of Sidney W. Foster, Jr., and Cynthia (Lohnes) Foster of Woburn. Stephen was a graduate of the Northeast Regional Vocational School, with the Class of 1992.
Stephen was a truck driver, and had been employed by Melba Express in Woburn for the past 14 years. During that time, he was a contract truck driver for the U.S. Post Office, transporting bulk mail to many of the area post offices.
Stephen was a hard worker, but he also enjoyed many extreme sports, including snowboarding, zip lining, and BMX bike racing. But most of all, he was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a devoted and loving son, grandson, and brother. Always there for his family, he had helped to put both his sisters through nursing school. He also loved spending time with his cousins.
In addition to his parents, Sidney and Cindy, Stephen is survived by his two sisters, Alison Foster of Woburn, and Aimee Foster of Woburn and Burlington, Vermont, and her boyfriend Dan Woods; and he was the grandson of Florence Lohnes of Billerica, and her husband, the late Roy Lohnes; and the late “Spud” and the late Dolly Foster. He is also survived by his Godparents, Bobby and Ethel Foster of Woburn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Monday, October 20 at 10:00 am. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-7 pm. Burial will be at the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn. A memorial service celebrating Stephen’s life will be held at the Montvale Congregational Church, 36 Orange St. (Cor. of Central St.) in Woburn on Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 am.
