Obituary: William Patrick Burke, 53, Graduate of Woburn High School
Founder and owner of Bur-Tec, the parent company of Home-Tec, Yard-Tec and Outstanding Stone Inc. of North Andover

William Patrick Burke 53, of North Andover - formerly of Woburn - died suddenly from
complications of Amyloidosis Wednesday at Lawrence General Hospital.
William was born in Winchester to the late Edward and Mary Lou (Silk) Burke.
He was a graduate of Woburn High School and Boston College where he triple majored in Computer
Science, Economics and English. He received his MBA magna cum laude in Entrepreneurship from
Babson College.
William was the founder and owner of Bur-Tec, the parent company of Home-Tec, Yard-Tec and
Outstanding Stone Inc. of North Andover.
He was loved by all who knew him. His passion and love of life were contagious and inspired others to
pursue their dreams. He enjoyed travel, especially long car rides with his wife, snowmobiling, hockey
and coaching his children’s sports teams.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Eklund) Burke of North Andover and his two cherished
children, Benjamin William Burke and Delaney Hanora Burke. Also among his survivors are his brother
Edward F. Burke Jr. and his wife Lisa of Natick and Noreen Callahan and her husband Bill of
Tewksbury.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover; burial will
follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, also in North Andover.
Family and friends may visit Sunday from 3-7 PM at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North
Andover.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations for the creation of a foundation dedicated to raising money for research pertaining to Amyloid-related diseases. The fund will be established in William Burke’s name early in the New Year. If interested in donating please contact his children. Thank you.
