Patriots' Day filmed at 12 Gill Street last Friday
Mark Wahlberg's Boston Marathon movie shot an office scene at Cummings Properties site

Mark Wahlberg’s upcoming motion picture Patriots’ Day filmed in Woburn on April 1. CBS Films contracted with Cummings Properties to use office space on the fourth floor of 12 Gill Street to shoot a scene for the film about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, according to Cummings Properties leasing manager Ed Silvey.
The Gill Street building and much of its parking lot was a flurry of activity with equipment and trailers on site Thursday and Friday. One lucky Cummings staff member, custodian Rob O’Keeffe, even had a close encounter with actor Kevin Bacon, who plays an FBI agent in the film.
“With a diverse 10 million-square-foot portfolio, we can typically provide the type of space a film company is looking for, whether it’s for a few months or just one day,” said Silvey. “The Gill Street space was already outfitted with lots of cubicles, which was just what CBS Films needed.”

This is not the first time a Cummings Properties location has been in the limelight. In 2014, its 12 Cabot Road property in Woburn was the top-secret location of the kitchen for the reality television series Top Chef–Boston. Commercials for Dunkin’ Donuts, Subway, Connecticut State Lottery, and WB Mason have also been filmed at various Cummings buildings.
Cummings Center in Beverly was home to an interior sound stage for the Oscar-winning film The Crucible, and the Sandra Bullock–Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy The Proposal also filmed there.
