POLICE LOG: Cops Catch Suspect After Break-In

March 21 – At 2:47 p.m., Nicholas Colby Jewett, 20, of 8 Capozzi Circle, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering a building in the daytime (felony charge), possession of burglarious instruments (screwdriver), receiving stolen property over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250 and possession of a Class D drug (marijuana). According to police, Jewett was taken into custody after police received an alarm activation from a residence on Forest Glen Road. Shortly after, a witness called police and reported seeing a man leaving a home wearing blue latex gloves. Police said the witness thought that to be strange and called police. Police canvassed the area for the suspect, and Jewett was found at Alfred Street and Barbara Circle. According to police, Jewett had property belonging to the Forest Glen Road residents in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Other Incidents:
March 21 –
At 1:08 p.m., a Woburn woman reported her Social Security number stolen while she was visiting family in California recently. The woman told police she had also contacted several other agencies about the identity theft.
At 2:43 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident in the Route 38/128 rotary on Main Street. There was damage to both vehicles, said police.
At 3:29 p.m., a Lakeview Terrace woman reported her car damaged in a hit and run accident on Fowle Street.
At 7:36 p.m., a Montvale Avenue woman reported her apartment broken into during the day. According to police, the woman said a kitchen drawer and cabinet were left open and a cup of screws were taken out and left on the counter. Police said there were no signs of forced entry at the apartment door or windows.
At 7:44 p.m., a Fitchburg man reported his car damaged by another vehicle while parked in the Bowladrome lot. According to police, witnesses reported a blue Jeep vehicle struck the car and drove away.
At 8:55 p.m., police were dispatched to a Tremont Street address for a report of a couple fighting. Police have responded to the same address several times over the last month for similar calls. Police advised the resident to seek a restraining order through the court.
At 9:20 p.m., a citizen approached an officer on Montvale Avenue and said a friend of his was unresponsive. Police went into the home and called Woburn Fire for assistance. One man was taken to Winchester hospital.
