POLICE LOG: Lipstick Used to Vandalize Car

An excerpt from the Woburn Police Department's Oct. 26 police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Oct. 26 –

At 7:52 a.m., an Eastern Avenue resident reported a rock was thrown through his car window overnight. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Police said the rock weighed approximately 10 pounds and shattered the entire rear window of the vehicle.

At 8:09 a.m., a Stoddard Street woman reported her car vandalized overnight. According to police, two expletives were scratched into her car and several other words written in red lipstick on her license plate.

At 8:27 a.m., police were dispatched to a two-car accident at the Route 128/38 rotary. According to police, one car rear-ended another. There were no reported injuries.

At 10:18 a.m., police responded to a report of a bank robbery at the Winchester Savings Bank. After showing a note asking for money, a white male wearing a white Boston Red Sox hat and a dark shirt fled the area with an undetermined amount of money. Police, including officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Massachusetts State Police and Billerica Police, searched the area for the suspect.

At 10:56 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Washington Street at Cummings Park. According to police, one car attempted to turn into Cummings Park when it was struck by another vehicle. The driver taking the turn was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic. There were no reported injuries.

At 1:26 p.m., a Richardson Street woman reported a bottle of prescription drugs were taken from her car on Oct. 22. According to police, the woman stated 10 pills were returned to her by an unknown person, but she is still missing 48 pills.

At 1:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a house-break on Bedford Road. A subsequent arrest was made at 2:14 p.m. of Nicholas Colby Jewett, 20, of 45 Marlboro Road. Jewett was arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon (knife), breaking and entering in the daytime (two counts), larceny over $250 and possession of a burglarious instrument. At 3:11 p.m., police responded to a one-car accident on Burlington Street near Harrison Avenue. According to police, a man swerved to avoid a black dog that had run into the street and could not avoid hitting a fence on Burlington Street. The car was towed from the scene due to damage and leaking transmission fluid.

At 5:23 p.m., a Woburn woman reported her car damaged by an unknown vehicle was it was parked at the Peterson School on Montvale Avenue.

At 5:28 p.m., police were dispatched to a two-car accident on Main Street near St. Anthony’s Church.

According to police, one driver rear-ended another and was issued a written warning for following too close. There were no reported injuries.

At 8:59 p.m., a Charlestown man was summonsed to Woburn District Court for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
