ARREST LOG: New Year's Eve Party Turns Violent
An excerpt from WPD's arrest log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
The following is an excerpt from the log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.
Dec. 30 –
At 7:51 a.m., Michael Joseph Couture, 37, of 20 Linden St. in Lowell, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, Couture was stopped for speeding on Salem Street. Police said Couture told the officer that he was “on his way to Woburn District Court for driving without a license and he did not have anyone to drive him.” Couture was taken into custody.

At 10:06 p.m., Jason Frederick Elmore, 24, of 4 Arlington Road Apt. #1, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a license, illegal possession of ammunition, assault with a dangerous weapon (rifle), assault and battery and improper storing of a firearm. Police responded to an Arlington Road home for a report of an argument involving a firearm. Elmore had fled the area. While police were interviewing witnesses, Elmore returned and was taken into custody. Elmore told police he had thrown his rifle into the bushes of a nearby home. Police found the rifle and ammunition.

At 12:17 a.m., a 17-year-old Medford male was taken into protective custody after police received a report of a loud party at the Red Roof Inn. Police observed two girls and the Medford teen in the room, which had damage to several walls. The girls were taken home by a parent, but the Medford teen was placed into protective custody due to his intoxicated state and loud behavior in the hotel lobby. The teen also faces a possession of a Class E substance charge (Alprazolam) after police found several pills in his sock.
At 2:01 a.m., Michael Allen Goulet, 34, of 6 Kimball St. Apt. #2 in Haverhill, was arrested and charged with larceny from a truck (two counts), assault and battery and possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine). According to police, a caller reported seeing a man siphon gas from two trucks on Arrow Drive. The witness reported the man drove away in a car, which was stopped by police on Wildwood Street. Goulet was identified by a witness as the man siphoning the gas from the trucks, said police. Two fuel cans were found in Goulet’s vehicle, said police.
Jan. 1 –
At 12:47 a.m., Sergio Alberto Caceres, 21, of 6 Alpena Ave., was arrested and charged with larceny from a person. According to police, officers were called to the Red Roof Inn for a report of a loud party in one of the rooms. When police arrived, they found two victims visibly injured in the parking lot. One of the victims alleged Caceres took a cell phone from his hand, jumped out a window and ran into the parking lot. The victims stated they went to the Red Roof for a party and were physically assaulted upon arrival. Caceres was taken into custody at the hotel, while a Stoneham man was summonsed to court for receiving stolen property (cell phone) and simple assault and battery.
At 3:12 p.m., a 61-year-old Wilmington man was placed in protective custody after police received a report of a drunk man at Pier One Imports. According to police, the man admitted to being drunk and could not walk on his own. Police placed the man in protective custody, but was unable to complete the booking process due to his intoxicated state, said officers.
At 3:56 p.m., Kevin M. Hill, 27, of 120 Main St. Apt. #1, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (knife). According to police, video surveillance footage of the Main Street Dunkin Donuts shows Hill entering the eatery, asking for a donut and then clearly taking out a knife and showing it to employees. Hill left the store without saying anything else, said police. Hill was taken into custody at a Buckman Street home.
At 5:36 p.m., Joseph M. Torrice, 24, of 10 Poplar St., was arrested and charged with assault and battery (domestic, two counts). According to police, Torrice and the victim argued and the argument turned physical. The victim hit Torrice and will be summonsed to Woburn District Court for assault and battery. Police said both parties exhibited injuries from the argument and both had consumed alcohol prior to the altercation.
