Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating how stress may influence mood and brain activity. Teens will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings. Teens will&nbsp;also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Teens will also be asked to fill out very brief surveys on their smartphone and to wear a smartwatch that tracks their heart rate, skin&nbsp;conductance, physical activity (i.e., step count), and sleep patterns. Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating factors that make some females better able to cope with stressful experiences and what makes some females more vulnerable to experiencing depression. By participating, you can help them better understand, prevent, and treat adolescent depression. Participants will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings and will also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Parent permission is required for females under 18. Our annual Hosta and Perennial sale will be held Saturday May 30 &nbsp;&amp; Sunday &nbsp;May 31 and Saturday June 6, 2026 at the Historic Lyman Estate Greenhouses.
We will have hundreds of plants both for the sun and shade along with a&nbsp; beautiful selection of hostas in blue, golds and variegated.We have a nice selection of herbs as well.
The Historic Greenhouses will be open during the sale, come rain or shine.
Held from 9:30 to 4:00 each day.

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers.
