Powerball Pot Reaches Record Size: Where to Buy Tickets in Woburn

Here are three places in Woburn where you can purchase a chance at the historic Powerball pot.

Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing yielded no winner, and now the pot has reached historic size.

Powerball players will not be moving to a tropical island or purchasing 10 sports cars after last night’s drawing, but all hope is not lost. Kerry Sanders of NBC Nightly News reports that the Powerball jackpot has now grown to become the largest jackpot in U.S. history. In the event that you have already put a down payment on that $200 million house, the next drawing will take place on Jan. 9.

According to the Powerball website, the current jackpot is estimated to be $700 million with a $428.4 million cash value. A lottery spokesperson told Patch that the pot is expected to grow. The winning numbers of Wednesday’s drawing were 2, 11, 47, 62, 63 and a Powerball number of 17. The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338.
