Saturday’s Powerball jackpot has reached absurdity.
Kerry Sanders of NBC Nightly News reported Thursday that the Powerball jackpot has now grown to become the largest jackpot in U.S. history. In the event that you have already put a down payment on that $200 million house, the next drawing will take place on Jan. 9.
According to the Powerball website, the current jackpot is estimated to be $800 million with a $496 million cash value. A lottery spokesperson told Patch that the pot is expected to grow. The winning numbers of Wednesday’s drawing were 2, 11, 47, 62, 63 and a Powerball number of 17. The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338.
