Quad Technologies leases 3,850 SF with Cummings Properties
MassChallenge winner comes to Woburn

Quad Technologies will move into a new 3,850-square-foot lab at Cummings Properties’ 3 Gill Street building in Woburn this November. Founded in 2012, the Northeastern University spinoff and 2013 MassChallenge winner specializes in innovative cell separation technology.
Cummings Properties key accounts manager Marc Knittle worked with Hank Amabile of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank on the lease. In addition to a new conference room and reconfigured offices, the space was built out to accommodate biosafety level 2 standards, including the installation of multiple fume hoods.
“Woburn—and Gill Street in particular—has become a biotech mini-hub thanks to its affordability, a straightforward permitting process, and its proximity to Cambridge,” said Knittle. “We are delighted to have Quad Technologies join Woburn’s vibrant biotech community.”

Quad recently received funding that allowed it to make the move from biotech incubator North Shore InnoVentures at Cummings Center in Beverly to its own space.
Its patent-pending QuickGelTM technology is an innovative tool for stem cell harvesting. Stem cells have the potential to treat life-threatening diseases such as Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Parkinson’s, and Multiple Sclerosis, but current harvesting technologies often destroy cells in the process. QuickGelTM is completely dissolvable and does not affect cell fate as other coating chemistries may, according to the firm’s website.
