WOBURN, MA — A Reeves elementary school student has decided to make a difference in her community as a way to celebrate her birthday.

On its Twitter account Thursday, the Reeves Elementary School shared an image of a note written by a student named Alexandra, who indicated that she hopes to donate supplies to the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem. Alexandra, a third grader at Reeves, stated that there will be a donation box outside of her classroom through Friday, and asked her fellow students to donate items.

Patch reached out to the Reeves School and the Northeast Animal Shelter for more information, but representatives were not immediately available. We'll let you know when we hear more about Alexandra's birthday donation.
