Relay for Life of Woburn Breaks $100k in Fundraising

Relay for Life of Woburn reached it's fundraising goal Sunday.

WOBURN, MA—Woburn residents, as well as participants from surrounding areas, had yet another successful Relay for Life Saturday at Library Park Field.

The organization announced Sunday that $112,879.29 in total funds were raised during the 2016 edition of Relay for Life of Woburn. The organization breached its fundraising goal of $100,000 during the 2016 campaign.

In addition, Relay for Life of Woburn raised $82,000 in funds as of 5:30 a.m. the morning after the 2015 event. The fundraising totals from 2016 represented a 37.6 percent increase in fundraising from 2015.

In total, 24 teams and 323 participants took part in the event. According to the Relay for Life of Woburn website as of 7:46 p.m. Sunday, Cushing Crusaders took the fundraising prize, amassing $13,675 in funds raised. Team We All Have an Angel and Kathy's Kampers followed closely behind, raising $12,879.26 and $12,568 respectively.
