Russian Ties in Woburn Have U.S. Officials Losing Trust: Report

Directors of several federal agencies wouldn't be comfortable with this cybersecurity firm on their computers.

WOBURN, MA — A Russia-based cybersecurity firm with its U.S. headquarters in Woburn apparently does not have the trust of some U.S. officials.

Kaspersky Lab was given the thumbs down by top national security officials - such as the director of the CIA and NSA - when asked last week by Sen. Marco Rubio whether they would be comfortable installing Kaspersky software on their computers, according to a report from the Boston Business Journal.

The BBJ reports Kaspersky founder and CEO Eugene Kaspersky said on Reddit he would be "very happy to testify in front of the Senate."
