Short Sale Mitigation, LLC Moves - Loss Mitigation Firm moves offices
Short Sale Mitigation, Loss Mitigation Services for Realtors, and defaulting homeowners moves it's Woburn, MA office

Woburn, MA based loss mitigation company, Short Sale Mitigation, LLC moves to larger office. Nick Aalerud, VP of Mitigation for the firm explained the move was based solely on growth of his companies.
"Strangely, there are still a ton of homeowners needing help out there in Massachusetts. We are scratching our heads at the so-called recovery," Aalerud explained. "Massachusetts is pro-homeowner and because of that, it takes a lot for a lender to foreclose on a homeowner here. There is a backlog of default properties. We are dealing with some homeowners that need help even 7-8 years back in default."
Short Sale Mitigation, LLC was the brainchild of his business partner Maryann Little back in 2009. She manages the day to day operations and is also surprised at the amount of defaults still happening in Massachusetts.

"Last year we saw a strange trend. We were still dealing with the housing crisis loans of 2004-2008, but now a new crop of foreclosures are happening and we are working with homeowners from 2011-2014, and most government programs aimed at helping them with loss mitigation options have ended," says Little.
For now Aalerud and Little say it's business as usual, but that they outgrew their old space in Woburn, which shares offices with Aalerud's brokerage, and his other real estate companies.
"We have always, always been about adapting with the market," says Little, "and now more than ever do we have to be on our toes to work with homeowners, because banks want to foreclose. It was easier to do a workout two years ago."
