SJC Rules for New Trial in 'Shaken Baby' Case: Reports
The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ordered a new trial for a former Woburn resident convicted of severely injuring his infant daughter

WOBURN, MA—A former Woburn resident will be given a new trial after being convicted of severely injuring his infant daughter, according to a report by the Boston Globe.
According to the Globe's report, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court(SJC) ordered a new trial for Oswelt Millien, formerly of Woburn, who was convicted by a Middlesex Superior Court of violently shaking his daughter. Millien has completed a five-year prison term.
The infant girl suffered non-fatal head and neck injuries while at home alone with Millien.

According to the Globe, Chief Justice Ralph D. Gants wrote that Millien's trial lawyer should have consulted with medical experts in order to properly counter prosecution witnesses. You can read more from the Boston Globe here.
