snom technology’s PA1 Receives 2014 INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine’s Product of the Year Award

WOBURN, Mass. – (February 12, 2014) snom technology, a leading developer of IP desktop business phones, announced today that its PA1 public address system has been named 2014 Internet Telephony Product of the Year by TMC, a global integrated media company.

The PA1 melds the functions of an IP phone with a high performance digital amplifier for broadcasting and multicasting announcements and music from a desktop VoIP phone to assigned rooms, hallways and entire floors.

“We’d like to thank TMC, the publisher of Internet Telephony, for recognizing snom and the PA1 with its Product of the Year award,” said Mike Storella, vice president of snom Americas. “The PA1 is unique in that it lets businesses make broadcast announcements from a desktop VoIP phone and upgrade its communications system without buying, installing or wiring any new gear.”

An announcement from the PA1 is made simply by initiating a call from a snom phone; a 4-watt amplifier provides enough coverage for an entire room or floor. Several units can be connected via an integrated switch and coupled with any loudspeaker, which preserves customer’s investment in existing equipment.

The snom PA1 saves money by interoperating with existing VoIP and PA infrastructure, and works with all SIP-based VoIP phones and business IP-PBX platforms. Because it works with existing gear, enterprises avoid the cost of deploying a SIP-based PA system.

“In the opinion of our distinguished judges, the PA1 has proven to be among the best communications and technology solutions on the market in 2014, and I look forward to continued innovation from snom,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC.
