The company chose Woburn to expand its operations in the U.S. market.

It’s approximately 3738 miles from Stockholm, Sweden to Woburn.
But that’s the distance one Swedish company is sending its chief executive in order to establish a U.S. office.
The Arcam Group, a Swedish company which provides cost-efficient Additive Manufacturing solutions for the production of metal components, announced the move in a press release Friday.

So why Woburn?
According to the press release, Woburn is the “perfect location” for the company to explore business development in the US, due the close proximity to subsidiaries AP&C in Montreal and DiSanto in Shelton, CT, as well as to investors on the east coast.

The Arcam Group said they will remain headquartered in Stockholm, but want to actively explore “huge” opportunities.
”The reason for my relocation is that I will focus more on the US market where options, growth potentials and strategic opportunities are huge. There are several major players in the aerospace and orthopaedics industries on the US east coast. By operating out of Woburn it will simply become easier for me to act. I also want to work closer to our subsidiaries in Shelton and Montreal to develop our businesses for EBM, powders and contract manufacturing”, said Magnus René, CEO and President of Arcam, in the press release.
The Arcam Group is known for its Electron Beam Melting technology and its innovative advanced manufacturing solutions in the aerospace and medical industries.
