AT&T Wireless Fixes Problem That Impacted 911 Calls
Service was restored late Friday night, according to a spokesperson.

WOBURN, MA — A spokesperson for AT&T Wireless said the company has fixed the problem that caused a "significant...cellular phone outage. Several police departments, including the Bridgewater State University Police Department, the Williamsburg Police Department and the Westhampton Police Department, sent out notices late Friday night warning people of the outage, that may have impacted customers' ability to call 911.
"Service has been restored for customers in the Williamsburg and Westhampton area, whose service was disrupted yesterday due to a hardware issue.," said Kate MacKinnon of AT&T Wireless.
You can monitor AT&T Wireless service outages using this interactive map. The outage did not affect land lines and services provided by other wireless carriers, police said.
