Thousands Vote Early In Woburn State Primary Election

Over 4,000 ballots have been cast early and by mail, as of Friday morning, according to the city clerk's office.

WOBURN, MA — Over 4,000 ballots had already been cast in the state primary in Woburn as of Friday morning, city clerk Bill Campbell said.

As of 10:15 a.m., 4,391 ballots had been cast.

All voters were eligible to vote by mail in the 2020 state primary, and in-person early voting lasted seven days, ending Friday at 1 p.m.

With over 4,000 ballots received, Woburn's voter turnout has already surpassed some recent state primaries. In 2018, over 6,000 votes were cast in the city, but fewer than 2,000 voted in 2016.
